View our November 1st forum examining how federal education policies have impacted local schools in Washington State.
The federal government has been involved in the education of its citizens since the beginning of the Republic. Many of its policies and actions, such as desegregating public schools, have been controversial and open to debate. More recently, the No Child Left Behind Act and the Obama Administration’s “Race to the Top” have pushed states and local school districts to adopt new policies and regulations that have raised questions about the role of the federal government in education. A distinguished panel of speakers led the conversation on this important topic.
