We will be polishing our report on the UN's Millenium Development goals to cut poverty, improve maternal health, and increase literacy, among other things. The Social Justice Committee meets on the first Monday of the month. At the February meeting, the committee will set committee goals for the upcoming year, evaluate meeting on a different day, discuss a possible public meeting with elected officials on homelessness and continue to review upcoming legislative issues, particularly as they pertain to housing for people leaving homelessness.

On February 14, 1920, six months before the 19th amendment to the Constitution was ratified, the League was formally organized in Chicago as the National League of Women Voters.
