If you have an active interest in a particular issue, you might decide to volunteer on a committee. It's a great opportunity to meet and talk to community leaders, stakeholder organizations, and experts where you can have a direct impact on local issues that affect you. If any of our current committees below pique your interest, don't hesitate to contact us.

Meetings are generally at the League office on Capitol Hill unless otherwise noted. Committees may not meet regularly during the summer; call the office or check the calendar to confirm.

• ECONOMICS & TAXATION
  Studies the macro-economic trends impacting our communities. Educates the public about the state, county and city budget and revenue issues. Reviews the fiscal impact of ballot issues before voters on League-supported programs and positions. Meetings are normally 9:30 AM the last Saturday of the month. • EDUCATION
  The Education Committee follows issues related to public education from pre-K to 12th grade, and normally meets the third Saturday of the month at 11:00 AM. • ENVIRONMENT
  The Environment Committee is currently focused on a county-wide program to share and support climate change efforts that are being moved both by the county and cities throughout King County. For more information and to get involved, contact MAK Mitchell, the Committee Chair.
  
• INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
  This committee is currently in hiatus.
  
• OBSERVER CORPS
  This group tracks what is happening in city and county council meetings throughout King County. For more details and to get involved click here.
  
• VOTER SERVICES
  This group organizes a variety of activities and events to help voters register, get information about candidates and issues, and vote.  To get involved contact the Voter Services chair, Chelsea Jordan.
