Explained data and charts found in reports such as Burien’s income distribution (by AMI) in comparison to King County and South King County’s. Reviewed cost Burdening, showing household income as a % of AMI, impact on BIPOC, and displacement vulnerability. Opened up to questions from the Commission members and then continued with presentation of 2020-2040 Housing Needs forecast. Noted that a lack of units for higher income households puts pressure on low income households. A wide spectrum of units will be needed to meet future housing needs. Andrea gave a Public Engagement Update from Broadview Planning. Direct recommendations and feedback from public in full report. Sought feedback and stories from immigrant refugee committees, city staff, students, teachers, and other diverse groups traditionally underrepresented in the planning process. Key themes:
